Theradome®: New Hope for Hair Loss Sufferers
Theradome® offers new hope for those experiencing hair loss. The Theradome® LH80 PRO is a unique, home-use Laser Phototherapy (LPT) helmet, FDA-cleared for the treatment of male and female pattern hair loss. Both the PRO LH80 and EVO LH40 models cover the entire affected scalp area.
Androgenetic alopecia, or pattern hair loss, is the most common type of hair loss. In men, it usually presents as a well-defined pattern of baldness, while in women it often results in overall thinning, particularly at the top or front of the head. Laser Phototherapy is a recognised, effective, and powerful treatment for promoting hair regrowth in this condition.
Women with other hair loss concerns can also benefit from using Theradome® laser helmets, whether the hair loss is due to pregnancy, illness such as flu or COVID, surgery, or post-chemotherapy.
One of the largest groups of users is post-menopausal women, who often experience hair thinning as part of the natural ageing process. As we age, it is a fact that hair becomes finer.
Many users report noticeable improvements in hair quality, structure, and condition with laser therapy. Over time, laser phototherapy can increase hair diameter, helping to reverse the signs of hair ageing and making hair easier to manage.
It's All About the Lasers – And Theradome’s Are Special
Theradome® is designed based on the concept of a clinical laser machine, equipped with 80 laser diodes delivering 5mW of power. Unlike many competitors, who often source their laser diodes cheaply from China at non-ideal wavelengths, Theradome® custom-makes its lasers in-house. This allows us to fine-tune them to the optimal wavelength for hair growth (680 nm). In contrast, many home-use laser devices feature diodes with wavelengths of 650 or 660 nm, which are mass-produced for purposes other than hair regrowth.
A unique feature of the Theradome® helmet is its ventilated design at the top. Research has shown that as the ambient temperature of the laser diodes increases, their power decreases. In laser caps or helmets with no ventilation, this results in a significant reduction in power output. To combat this, Theradome® utilises gold heat sinks that draw heat away from the diodes and release it through the ventilation holes. In tests, we found that the 80 lasers cause less than a 1°C increase in ambient temperature, ensuring consistent power throughout the 20-minute treatment session.
To further ensure our lasers operate at their optimum temperature, the helmet is equipped with a sensor that monitors the conditions. If the temperature exceeds the ideal range, you’ll hear a ‘warning temperature high’ message, and the helmet will automatically switch off to maintain effectiveness.
Please note: In the rare case of a British heatwave, keep your Theradome® in the coolest part of your home and use it when the ambient temperature is at its lowest. Storing or using it in high heat or direct sunlight may trigger the sensor, preventing use to ensure you get the best treatment.
How Does the Theradome® PRO LH80 Work?
Equipped with 80 custom-made, clinical-strength lasers, the Theradome® PRO LH80 delivers targeted photo-energy to the scalp, promoting improved hair growth and quality. This portable device offers the power of a clinical Laser Phototherapy machine in a convenient, user-friendly design. With a single control button and an audio system that provides spoken instructions, using the Theradome® is straightforward.
A female voice guides you through your treatment, keeping track of how many sessions you’ve completed and notifying you when the battery needs recharging. It also informs you how much time is left in each session and signals when your treatment is finished. Completely hands-free, the device is powered by a durable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery capable of delivering around seven treatments per charge.
