What is Topical Dutasteride and What is it Used For?
Topical Dutasteride is a prescription medication used to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). It works by reducing the levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) on the scalp, the hormone responsible for shrinking hair follicles and causing hair thinning.
Dutasteride is a more potent alternative to Finasteride, inhibiting both type I and type II 5-alpha-reductase enzymes, which convert testosterone to DHT.
How Does Topical Dutasteride Work?
By reducing DHT levels in the scalp, Topical Dutasteride:
Slows down hair thinning
Stimulates regrowth of existing hair
Prevents further hair loss
How to Use Topical Dutasteride
Apply 1 ml to the scalp once daily or as directed by your healthcare provider.
Gently massage into the affected areas of the scalp.
Avoid washing or rinsing your scalp for at least 4 hours after applying the solution.
